As part of the protocol, a safety lock-out exists, preventing current from flowing when the charger is not connected to the car. It ensures that if a cable is not correctly inserted, power will not flow through it.<\/p>\n<p>EVSE can also detect hardware faults, disconnecting the power and preventing battery damage, electrical shorts and fire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A-1532XA EVSE Adaptor Connection &amp; Test Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eight.rgcadvertising.com.au\/emona\/local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/A-1532-Connect.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Testing Procedure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect the A 1532XA output to the Instaltest XC or XD tester (via mains test socket or via safety banana sockets)<\/li>\n<li>Select PP State (3) position N.C. and CP State (4) position A.<\/li>\n<li>Connect A 1532XA plug (6) to the EVSE.<\/li>\n<li>Run installation tests for non-energized installation circuits.<\/li>\n<li>Simulate different charging conditions with PP State (3) and CP State (4). Verify the response of the EVSE.<\/li>\n<li>In PP State (3) position different to N.C. and CP State (4) position in C or D, the EVSE output is energized. Installation tests for energized installation circuits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples of Error Conditions Identified:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Error condition or disconnection of plug<\/li>\n<li>EVSE does not supply energy<\/li>\n<li>EV detected, EV not ready to receive energy, EVSE does not supply energy<\/li>\n<li>EV ready to receive energy, EVSE is supplying energy if ventilation is not required.<\/li>\n<li>EV ready to receive energy and requires ventilation, EVSE is supplying energy only if ventilation exists.<\/li>\n<li>EVSE doesn\u2019t supply energy (no power).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>InstalTest XC or XD Auto-Sequences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Metrel&#8217;s Auto-Sequences combine a single tests into single key press operation and indicate Pass\/Fail with a green tick or red cross.
