Frequently Asked Questions

What Types Of Filaments Are Available?

At Emona we stock a wide range of Markforged filaments that cater to diverse applications in 3D printing. These include Onyx, a nylon-based filament infused with micro carbon fibres for enhanced strength, Nylon, a versatile and durable filament ideal for functional parts, and specialty filaments such as Carbon Fibre, Kevlar, and Fiberglass that offer additional reinforcement and temperature resistance.

Additionally, metal filaments like Stainless Steel, Tool Steel, Copper, and Inconel 625 are available for specialised applications.

What Are The Differences Between Fff And Cff Filaments?

FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) filaments, like Onyx and Nylon, are primarily used for constructing the main body of prints. In contrast, CFF (Continuous Fiber Fabrication) filaments, including Carbon Fiber and Kevlar, are designed to reinforce prints, making them significantly stronger without adding excessive weight.

FFF filaments typically come in larger spool sizes (800cm³), while CFF filaments are available in smaller quantities (50cm³ or 150cm³) due to their specialised nature.

Are There Any Specialty Filaments Available?

Yes, Markforged offers a variety of specialty filaments. For example, Onyx FR is flame-retardant, while Onyx ESD is designed to prevent electrostatic discharge. High Temp Fiberglass is another option that provides excellent heat resistance for applications in high-temperature environments. There’s also a Ceramic Support filament available for specific printing requirements.

What Spool Sizes Are Available For The Filaments?

Filament spool sizes vary according to the filament type. For instance, Onyx and Nylon filaments typically come in 800cm³ spools. Meanwhile, specialised filaments like metal and fibreglass variants are available in smaller sizes (200cc and 400cc) for specific applications. CFF filaments like Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, and Fiberglass are available in both 50cm³ and 150cm³ spools.

Are There Different Colour Options For Pla Filaments?

Certainly! We provide a range of colour options for our range of Markforged Precise PLA filaments, including White, Black, Orange, and Blue, allowing users to choose the colour that best fits their project needs. These PLA filaments come in 600cc spools, offering a good balance between quantity and variety. Contact us today to learn more.
